The event will take place on Tuesday, 3 March and Tuesday, 10 March 2026 at the Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA) in Trieste and is intended to illustrate the opportunities that AI technologies can offer in supporting and enhancing research and to provide guidance on a responsible use of artificial intelligence in research activities.
The first day will be dedicated to “AI in research: tools, opportunities and challenges”, with talks by Sebastian Goldt, Associate Professor (SISSA); Laura Meneghetti, Postdoctoral Researcher (SISSA); Satvik Mishra, PhD Student (SISSA); Matteo Santoro, PhD Student (SISSA); Rudy Skerk, PhD Student (SISSA); Romano Trampus, Director of ITCS (SISSA); and Roberto Trotta, Full Professor (SISSA).
One the second day, the training course will focus AI tools that can help in all aspects of the research workflow. The speaker will be Alessandro Gallo, General Manager of Springer Health+ Italia.
In addition, it will be possible to take part in a Discussion Game dedicated to the relationship between AI and society.
